MBBS

The MBBS full form is Bachelor of Medicine, Bachelor of Surgery. MBBS is an undergraduate course for aspirants who want to fulfil their dream of becoming a doctor. It is a professional degree in Medical Science.

The duration of the MBBS course is 5 years of study in 19 medical courses followed by 6 months of internship. The NEET is used to determine eligibility for MBBS admission. To be eligible for the NEET, students must be over the age of 17 and have completed Class 12 with Physics, Chemistry, and Biology as required subjects. After completing the MBBS and obtaining the degree, students would be qualified as medical practitioners or doctors.

Entrance examination for MBBS course

The National Testing Agency (NTA) conducts the National Eligibility cum Entrance Test (NEET) exam in 13 languages. The single national-level undergraduate medical entrance exam, NEET UG held every year for admission to 645 medical, 318 dental, 914 AYUSH, and 47 BVSc and AH colleges in India.

Duration of the MBBS Course

The duration of MBBS is 5 ½ years (4.5 academic course duration + 1-year internship). The duration of the course is split into 9 semesters followed by one year of internship/ Live training. It is an undergraduate academic degree course having a syllabus including both medicine and surgery subjects.
